More changes on New Year’s Day..
Today marks the end of the railroad building marathon session which started two weeks ago. It’s back to work tomorrow, boohoo. But before that, more progress has been made on the peninsula, which is finally taking shape.
South wall Staging framework completed
Past two days were so-so productive, or maybe I just expect too much. At first, it took a long time to derive a satisfactory cross-brace design. After that it was a matter of fabrication, measuring and cutting metal studs and track to size, fitting, measuring more, levelling everything. Did I mention levelling and measuring?
Layout construction schedule
Note: This is a living document. It will change as often as this railroad is tweaked and tuned.

This page will serve as a schedule plan for the Newbridge & Lockport RR layout construction. The intent is to obviously build this layout in phases and reaching milestones at whatever intervals possible (the sooner the better), while not having long inactive periods, unless there’s a good reason for it.
North wall looks done
After yesterday afternoon’s progress with installing stringers on the North wall, today started rather slow, with chores and house things to do. But it quickly transformed into a full-blown railroad building session. By midday all stringers were installed, and by the the late afternoon all the metal track around the perimeter of the North wall has been completed.
Christmas Day update: North wall “framed”
It snowed quite a lot on the Christmas Eve here, making it all nice and white, like in a Christmas fairy tale, except that today was another day of shovelling snow, uggh. This Winter better not keep like this, I got a layout to build, can’t be spending time on cleaning snow damn it.
Yet, more progress to report, the late afternoon/evening was very productive as can be seen from the photo below.
The sky looks “clear blue” here
We managed to get a gallon of paint today (“Clear Blue Sky”) and put a coat on the walls just above the base of the Staging benchwork.
